Free Pattern – Blanket from Embossed and Daisy Squares

Let’s learn how to crochet this beautiful blanket you can see on the picture. In order to accomplish this goal we have to learn how to crochet two different squares. These squares are namely: embossed flower square and three daisy square.
We are going to look at them separately. Look at the charts for each square and the pattern provided. After you’ve mastered how to make these squares, just join them in order to make yourself this beautiful blanket.

Embossed Flower Square Pattern:
Make 30ch.
Row 1 (WS): 1dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1dc in each of 26ch. (28dc).
Row 2: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, *2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 4dc,*. rep from * to * twice more, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 3: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, *2dc in 2ch sp, 1dc in next dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, make flower around edge of mesh space just made:
Working counterclockwise and always inserting the hook from inside the mesh space (as if it were a foundation ring), 3ch, 3dc under post of last dc made (at left side of space), 3ch, ss in corner (that is, top of dc of previous row), 3ch, 1dc in same place, 1dc in top of each of next 2 dc of previous row, 3ch, ss in corner, 3ch, 3dc under next dc (at right side of space), 3ch, ss in corner, 3ch, 3dc under 2ch (across top of space), 3ch, then inserting hook from the front ss in top of the next dc of main row (4 petals made).
Hold the first petal made to the front and work 2dc in next 2ch sp of previous row,* 1dc in next dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, rep from * to P once more, 1dc in each of 3 dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 4: When working into 2ch sps, part the petal sts to work the dc between them, over the enclosed ch: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, *2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in 2ch sp, 1dc in next dc,* rep from * to * twice more, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 3 dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 5: As row 1.
Row6: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, *2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in 2ch sp, 1dc in next dc,* rep from * to * twice more, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Rep rows 3 – 6 once more, then rows 3 – 4 once again.
Row 13: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each dc and 2dc in each 2ch sp, ending 1 dc in erd of 3ch. Fasten off.

Three Daisy Square Pattern:


Yarn in Blue – A.
Yarn in White – B.
Square:
Using A, make 30ch.
Row 1: 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of 26ch. (28dc).
Row 2: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each rem dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 3: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 21dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 3dc,1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 4: As row 2, working 2dc in 2ch sp.
Rows 5 0 6: As row 2.
Row 7: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 12 dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 12dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 8: As row 2, working 2dc in 2ch sp.
Rows 9 – 10: As row 2.
Rows 11: 3ch, skip first dc, 1dc in each of 3dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of 21dc, 1dc in 3rd of 3ch.
Row 12: As row 2, working 2dc in 2ch sp.
Row 12: As row 2.
Fasten off A.
Daisies.
Work first daisy in the round around a hole.
Round 1: RS facing, join B to first of 2 skipped dc on row 2, 1ch, 1sc in next dc, 1sc in corner, 2sc in dc at left edge of hole, 1sc in corner, 1sc in base of each of 2dc at top of hole, 1sc in corner, 1sc base of each of 2dc at top of hole, 1sc in corner, 2sc in dc at right edge of hole, 1sc in corner, ss In first ch. (12 sts).
Round 2: 6ch, [ss in next sc, 6ch] 11 times, ss in last ss of round 1.
Fasten off B.
Make a daisy around each of the remaining holes.
