Crochet Spider Web Lace Pattern – Halloween Edition
Materials: Cotton yarn in white, cream, or black; a crochet hook appropriate for your yarn (around 3.5–4.5 mm works well); scissors; yarn needle.
Abbreviations: ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, sp = space.
Foundation: Ch 31.
Row 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook. Ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat across. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3. Dc in first dc. Ch 3, sc into next ch-2 sp, ch 3, dc into next dc. Repeat across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3. Ch 4, sc into center of next ch-3 sp, ch 4, dc into next dc. Repeat across. Turn.
Continue increasing the chain spaces gradually—ch 5, then ch 6—to create the open, expanding spider-web effect. To create the pointed half-web shape, decrease the number of sections toward the final rows. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Make several half-web motifs and connect them along a long foundation chain with slip stitches or single crochet. Leave a little space between each motif so the lace hangs naturally. You can also add small crocheted spiders or tassels.
