Crochet Heart Motif
Alright, first things first. You might be wondering, “Why would I want to crochet a heart?” And I ask, why wouldn’t you? In these trying times, we need all the yarn-crafted affection we can get. Forget hugs. Too close, too sweaty. What we need is a pocket-sized token of love made out of yarn, which, fun fact, is just glorified string.
I can hear you already, “George, crochet seems like one of those things you need a grandma for.” Wrong. Grandmas are busy crocheting love into family Christmas sweaters. We’re here to make tiny yarn hearts to throw at people from a safe distance.
So, what exactly is a crochet heart motif? Well, imagine taking a regular ol’ skein of yarn, some pointy sticks (crochet hooks, for the uninitiated), and an unhealthy amount of patience. You twist, you loop, and eventually, you have something that looks vaguely like a heart, but also kind of like a lumpy potato. Art is subjective, okay?
